Introduction
This Special Instruction shows the proper procedure for ordering part using the vintage parts website.
Ordering Procedure
- To, order parts from Vintage Parts you need to go to website.

- The first time you visit this site you will need to enter your "Vintage Parts Account Number" and "Zip Code". Then select "CONTINUE".

- "First Name"
- "Last Name"
- "E-Mail Address"
- "Telephone Number"
- "Password"
- "Password Confirmation"

Illustration 7 g02272817 - Verify your account information and confirm "DEALER ACCOUNT ACTIVE". Select the drop-down arrow in the "Vintage Parts Locator" in order to bring up the manufacturer(s) you are authorized to purchase from.
- Select "CATERPILLAR INC." by highlighting that field thus allowing you to check availability, price, and to place orders. You will have the following options for searching for parts:
"STARTS WITH" - Enter the beginning of or the exact part number.
"CONTAINS" - Enter a portion if the part number.
"ALL" - All parts for the product line.
Show/hide tableIllustration 8 g02272818 - The next screen will be the "Parts Locator Search Results" with quantity, part number, description, weight, and price. In order to purchase the part place a check in the box under "Buy Now" and select "Add parts to order" in order to get to the next screen.
Note: The "ACCUM ASM 4" referenced herein was entered as an example only.

You may now click "RETURN TO PARTS LOCATOR" to check price and availability of additional parts, change the quantity and select "UPDATE CART" in order to change the quantity being ordered or click on "CHECKOUT" to begin the checkout procedure.
Note: If you choose, you may leave the site and come back at a later time to review your order. The parts selected will stay in your shopping cart until you "Remove" and update or "CHECKOUT".
Show/hide tableIllustration 10 g02272821 - On this screen verify your delivery address. Select the dot next to "Shipping & Handling" and click "CONTINUE" to proceed to payment method to enter your purchase order number or credit card information.
Note: USA and CANADA: Standard shipping method for dealers in the US and Canada is via FEDEX ground. Freight charges will be added and charged in addition to the price of the part(s) purchased.
Note: International: Standard shipments for dealers outside of the US and Canada will ship via FEDEX ECONOMY service providing 3 -5 day service to nearly all global shipping points. The cost of this service will apply at time of purchase and is available for all parts under
68 kg (150 lb) . Instructions on the Web will be given for parts that are over weight.Note: If, your preference is for expedited or special freight services call Vintage Parts.

- For "Credit Card" enter the credit card information and select "CONTINUE" in order to continue the checkout procedure. Freight charges will be added to the order and charged to the credit card account. An order confirmation number will be sent to you by email for reference once the order is processed.

Return Policy
Vintage Parts has a 3-day no fault parts return policy. Occasionally parts orders need returned for various reasons. To assist Vintage Parts customers, Vintage Parts has established the following guidelines to cover your return goods requirements.
- To receive credit on returned parts, notify Vintage Parts within 30 days of the invoice date. Contact Vintage Parts Customer Service at (877) 846-8243 (U.S. and Canada) or (920) 356-0653 for return approval, a return label, and instructions prior to returning any parts.
- Include a copy of the packing list or invoice with the returned parts in order to receive the proper credit. Indicate the reason for the return on the enclosed paperwork to assist Vintage Parts in expediting your return and credit.
- Parts to be returned must be shipped prepaid by you to the address specified on the Vintage Parts Return Goods Authorization Label sent to you by Vintage Parts Customer Service Specialist. Credit for the net invoice value of the part, less any applicable charges, will occur after receipt and inspection of the part.
- Parts returned as a result of being misidentified, incomplete, damaged, shipped in error, or does not meet OE quality standards will receive credit for the applicable shipping charges and the net invoice value of the parts.
- If the parts are lost in transit, notify Vintage Parts Customer Service at either the above phone numbers immediately. Customer Service Specialists will assist in attempting to recover the lost shipment and process a replacement order, provided the parts are still available.
- If parts are received damaged, contact the carrier immediately, plus contact Vintage Parts Customer Service at either of the above phone numbers. Customer Service Specialists will process a replacement order, provided the parts are still available. Retain damaged parts plus the original carton and packing material.
