Note: Some different types of vibration dampers are available for use. The following procedure describes the removal and installation of a typical vibration damper assembly and damper group.
- Remove bolts (2) and guard assembly (1).

Illustration 2 g02023118 - Remove two bolts (3). Install Tooling (A). Attach Tooling (B) and a suitable lifting device to vibration damper (4). The weight of vibration damper (4) is approximately
52 kg (115 lb) . - Remove remaining bolts (3) and vibration damper (4).
- Remove the adapter from Tooling (A). The weight of the adapter is approximately
29 kg (64 lb) .

- Install vibration damper (4) in the reverse order of removal.
- Ensure that the mark on the vibration damper is in alignment with the mark on the end of the crankshaft.
- Apply molybdenum disulfide to the threads of bolts (3). Install bolts (3). Remove Tooling (A) and install remaining bolts (3). Tighten bolts (3) to a torque of
1150 ± 60 N·m (850 ± 44 lb ft) .
