Service Kit Is Available For Woodward UG8 Governor{1289}

Usage:

D346, D348, D349, D353, D379, D398 and D399 Industrial and Marine Engines

Description of Change: A service kit is now available for the above models with Woodward UG8 Governors that have a permanent magnet synchronous motor. The service kit has a printed circuit board that is a replacement for the former circuit used to control the speed motor of the governor. The new circuit has resistors that will give protection to the diodes if the wrong voltage is used.

The former circuit did not have diodes for protection and was damaged if the wrong voltage was used. This type of damage makes replacement of the complete governor group necessary.

Adaptable To: The new 8N4904 Printed Circuit Board Conversion Kit is adaptable to all 7N2702, 7N2703, 7N9922 and 7N9923 Woodward UG8 Governors that have a permanent magnet synchronous motor. A Special Instruction, Form Number SMHS7537, has the information needed for installation of the new service kit.
