- C15 (S/N: SDP1-UP; B5R1-UP)
Introduction
The problem that is identified below does not have a known solution. Until a permanent solution is known, use the solution that is identified below.
Problem
An incorrect regulator for fuel pressure (check valve) in the base of the secondary fuel filter may have been installed in some of the engines that are listed above. The incorrect 282-5091 Check Valve Gp was previously identified as a part of the 282-5092 Check Valve Gp .
The 282-5091 Check Valve Gp has a pressure regulator that is rated at 565 kPa (82 psi), which is too low. Use of this check valve can cause the following symptoms:
- Codes for low pilot pressure
- Failed regenerations
- Poor fuel flow to the engine
Solution
Do not use the 282-5091 Check Valve Gp . If your engine has the symptoms that are listed above, inspect the check valve.
The correct part is the 304-9385 Check Valve Gp , which is correctly identified as part of the 282-5092 Check Valve Gp . This check valve has a rating of 690 kPa (100 psi).
