5	40	515-8949 Bolt	Use the following procedure to assemble bevel gear to housing: 1. Tighten the bolts 1-8 in a cross pattern to 300 ± 50 N·m (221 ± 37 lb ft) as shown in Illustration 3. 2. Tighten the bolts 1-40 in a circular pattern to 450 ± 50 N·m (332 ± 37 lb ft) as shown in Illustration 4. 3. Turn the bolts 1-40 to an extra 30 ± 5 degrees.

6	27	6V-7742 Full Nut	Use the following procedure to assemble the pinion gear to hub: 1. Tighten the nuts 1-4 in a cross pattern to 200 ± 50 N·m (148 ± 37 lb ft) as shown in Illustration 5. 2. Tighten the nuts 1-27 in a circular pattern to 520 ± 70 N·m (384 ± 52 lb ft) as shown in Illustration 6.

Note: If either the gear or hub was replaced, or not assembled as a matched set in the same orientation as before disassembly, the following reaming procedure must be done.

Note: Assemble pinion gear to the hub and ream one hole for bolts (6) to 20.268 ± 0.013 mm (.7980 ± .0005 inch). Use pinion gear as a guide. Install one bolt (6). Ream the second hole at a location that is 180 degrees from the hole.
