Description of Change: The 9G7641 Start Switch now has an improved seal around the tumbler to minimize moisture and dirt entry. This new seal is better able to keep contaminants out of the switch cavity to maintain a good electrical contact and keep the switch from sticking. A contaminated switch may stick in the start position. The resulting starter damage may be seen as milled drive teeth, an exploded armature commutator, or expanded armature winding bars.
Adaptable To: The improved 9G7641 Start Switch is adaptable to all products using the former switch. The part number did not change. The improved switch is identified by a dark blue terminal plate on the back of the switch. The former switch had a black terminal plate.
