New Socket In Valve Rocker Arms Provides Lubrication For Inlet Valve Seats {1103,1105,1123}

Description of Change: New rocker arm assemblies for the valves are used on the 3500 Family Of Engines. The new arm assembly has a new socket for the bridge. The new socket has a flat machined on one side which allows oil to flow around the socket stem and out the end of the rocker arm. See illustration. The oil is sprayed on top of the inboard valves (toward the center of the engine) to improve lubrication to the valve stems and seats.

The new 9Y1770 Socket can be installed as a direct replacement for the former 8N7197 Socket, which is still serviced and used in the injector rocker arm assembly.

The former 8N7290 Rocker Arm Assembly has been canceled and replaced by the new 9Y1741 Rocker Arm Assembly which includes the new 9Y1770 Socket.
