Oil Levels In Caterpillar Machines{7560}
Usage:
Some oil reservoirs are very large and oil levels will vary slightly from cold to hot. Caterpillar considers oil levels to be correct on new machines if the levels are in a range between "Full" and halfway to "Add. See the illustrations. It is harmless to operate a machine whenever the oil levels are between the "Full" and "Add" marks."

There is an exception with hydraulic systems where the implement is not installed at the factory. In these situations, make sure that the oil level is correct after the implement is installed.
