Fuel Injection Lines

Usage:

  1. Hand tighten three bolts (1) for the fuel rail to the cylinder head.

    (3) Quill tube nut

    (6) Fuel injector

    Note: Center each of the fuel lines with the bore of the nut. Do not bind the fuel line to the inside of the nut.

  1. Hand tighten nuts (2) on the fuel lines to the quill tubes (5) and the fuel pump (4) .

    Location of the clamps

  1. Assemble the clamp assemblies (7) for the fuel rail and hand tighten the bolts to the cylinder head.

  1. Assemble the fuel line clamps (8) for the fuel line and hand tighten the bolts.

  1. The opening of the grommet (10) must be positioned within a 90 degrees angle (B) of the clamp assembly (7) .

    (12) Fuel rail

  1. Hand tighten seven fuel line nuts (11) to the fuel rail.

    Note: Before torquing, check the clearances at the fuel line and the connections of the fuel rail. If necessary, repeat Step 1 through 6.

  1. Tighten clamp assemblies (7) for the fuel rail to standard torque. Tighten the fuel line clamps (8) for the fuel line to standard torque.

  1. Tighten seven fuel line nuts (9) at the fuel rail to 27 ± 3 N·m (20 ± 2 lb ft).

  1. Tighten three bolts (1) for the fuel rail to 27 ± 3 N·m (20 ± 2 lb ft).

  1. Tighten six fuel line nuts (2) to quill tubes (5) to a torque of 15 ± 3 N·m (11 ± 2 lb ft). Then, turn the nut in the clockwise direction to 60 ± 5 degrees.

  1. Tighten nut (2) at the fuel pump to 15 ± 3 N·m (11 ± 2 lb ft). Then, turn the nut in the clockwise direction to 60 ± 5 degrees.

  1. Lubricate the sealing face and the threads of the relief valve assembly by using 6V-4876 Lubricant .

  1. Tighten the pressure sensor group (13) to 85 ± 3 N·m (65 ± 2 lb ft).

  1. Tighten the relief valve assembly (14) to 85 ± 3 N·m (65 ± 2 lb ft).
