Usage:
3204 Engines
Often, the fuel transfer pump is mistakenly changed to improve the fuel flow when low fuel delivery (or low fuel pressure) is experienced on a 3204 Engine. If low fuel pressure is experienced, check the screen assembly in the fuel inlet port of the fuel transfer pump body. See the illustration. Plugging of the 2W7671 Screen Assembly, in the fuel transfer pump supply inlet, results in fuel inlet restriction which causes low fuel flow from the fuel transfer pump. The length of the screen assembly may cause the screen to collapse because it is too long for the bore in the fuel transfer pump body. Inspect the screen assembly for damage or plugging. If the screen assembly is plugged or damaged, install a new 2W7671 Screen Assembly.
NOTE: The length of the screen portion of the 2W7671 Screen Assembly has been reduced to 17 mm (.67") to insure correct assembly. The part number did not change.
