Diesel Particulate Filter Regeneration
The Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) traps both soot and ash. Regeneration is the removal of soot from the DPF. The Aftertreatment Regeneration Device (ARD) is used to regenerate the DPF. The long-term buildup of ash is removed through a manual cleaning process. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Diesel Particulate Filter - Clean" for more information on the service of the DPF.
