A new procedure for routing of the wire harness for the console covers has been improved. The wire harness is improved by removing the wire braiding, retape the wire harness, and covered with convoluted tubing for insulation. This braiding removal reduces undue stress on the console cover where the harness comes through the console cover. See Illustration 1 and 2 for the location of improvement.
Adaptable To: The following changes are adaptable to the products within the listed serial numbers, and are effective with all products after the listed serial numbers.
Routing Procedure
- Remove 390-3841 Console As (RH) and 390-3846 Console (LH).
- Reposition the harness to ensure that the harness is routed along side of the weld link and not on top of the weld link. Ensure that the harness lays flat and does not apply any upward pressure on the console cover.
- Ensure the head of the tie-strap is away from the console cover.
