Replacing the Combustion Head for the Aftertreatment Regeneration Device{1088, 1720, 1722}

Usage:

C13 LEE
Engine:
C13 (S/N: LEE1-UP)
C15 (S/N: SDP1-UP)

Do not perform any procedure in this Special Instruction until you read this information and you understand this information.

Do not replace the combustion head unless the combustion head has failed. The combustion head on the aftertreatment regeneration device now has five lines that are connected. Use the following procedure to remove the air lines that are no longer needed.

  1. Replace the combustion head on the aftertreatment regeneration device. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Combustion Head Group (ARD) - Remove and Install".

  1. Remove the purge line for the spark plug (1). Refer to Illustrations 1 and 2.

  1. Install a cap on fitting (2) at the valve for the combustion air. The fitting can be removed and the fitting can be replaced by 238-5078 O-Ring Seal and 9S-8001 Plug . Refer to Illustrations 1 and 2.

  1. Install a 214-7568 O-Ring Seal and 9S-8004 O-Ring Plug at manifold (3) in the place of the removed air line. Refer to Illustrations 3 and 4.

  1. Remove air line (4) from the manifold to the combustion head.

  1. Install a 192-7111 O-Ring Seal and 9S-8002 Plug on manifold (5) in the place of the removed air line. Refer to Illustrations 5 and 6.
