This Special Instruction describes the proper assembly procedure for the 5N-3765 Flexible Coupling Gp .

Note: The sequence of assembly may be modified for the field rework procedure.

(1) 0S-1589 Bolt

(2) 4D-3704 Hard Washer

(3) 9H-0846 O-Ring Seal

(4) 1A-8537 Bolt

(5) 5N-3274 Plate

(6) 3N-6666 Drive Coupling

(7) 5N-3272 Rubber Coupling Boot

(8) 5N-3284 Outer Coupling

  1. Use 5N-5561 Silicone Lubricant (9) in order to lubricate all surfaces that will contact O-Ring seals (3) and boot (7). Do not allow lubricant on plate (5) .

  1. Center drive coupling (6) inside outer coupling (8). Use a suitable lifting device in order to safely install the drive coupling. The drive coupling weighs approximately 39 kg (86 lb).

  1. Install three boots (7) between drive coupling (6) and outer coupling (8) .

  1. Fill the cavities between the couplings and the boots with the remaining silicone lubricant.

    (3) 9H-0846 O-Ring Seal

  1. Install two O-Ring seals (3) in outer coupling (8). One seal is installed on each side of the outer coupling.

    (5) 5N-3274 Plate

  1. Install plate (5) onto outer coupling (8). Use 12 bolts (4) and 12 hard washers (2) in order to fasten the plate to the coupling.

  1. Install the coupling assembly onto the cavity of the flywheel. Use a suitable lifting device in order to install the coupling assembly. The coupling assembly weighs approximately 113 kg (250 lb). Use 12 bolts (1) and 12 hard washers (2) in order to fasten the coupling assembly to the flywheel.

  1. Install drive coupling (6) to the hub of the generator.
