New Water Temperature Regulator Has A Closer Fit At The Valve Seat To Keep Leakage At A Minimum{1355}

Usage:

D342, D343, D346, D348, D349, D379, D398, D399, 3406 and 3408 Engines in Some Applications

Description of Change: A new water temperature regulator is used which has a maximum leakage rate of 50cc per minute at the main valve with a 30 psi (207 kPa) pressure difference across the valve. The former regulator did not have a specification for a maximum valve leakage rate and the leakage rate was approximately one to two gallons per minute (3.8 to 7.6 litres per minute). The new regulator will cause the engine to warm faster and/or keep the engine coolant warmer in conditions of small loads. The regulator valve is fully open at 197°F (92°C).

Adaptable As: Direct replacement.
