Coupling With A Slip Fit Now Used At Turbocharger Exhaust Outlet Instead Of Coupling With Piston Rings{1061}

Usage:

3412 Industrial Engine

Description of Change: An outlet coupling with a slip fit is now used at the turbocharger exhaust outlet instead of a coupling with piston-type rings. Tests have shown the coupling with a slip fit will prevent leaks for a longer period of time than the coupling with piston-type rings. This is possible, because there is less wear between the turbine housing and the coupling joint.

Adaptable As: Direct replacement on the engine arrangements shown in the chart.

INSTALLATION: Check the coupling bore in turbine housing for wear. If the bore in the turbine housing has too much wear, install a new housing before the new coupling is installed.

The coupling must turn freely so that there is no stress after assembly.
