New 5P7307 Engine Turning Tool Group Fits All Engines{0611}

Usage:

The new 5P7307 Engine Turning Tool Group is a replacement for the 2P8300 Tool Group. The tool is used for rotation of engine crankshafts during timing or valve adjustment or when you remove the connecting rods and pistons. While it does the same operations as the former group, the new group (Illustration 1) has only half as many parts.

Illustration 1. The 5P7307 Group has one housing and one pinion shaft.

Illustration 2. The 5P7307 Group installs into the starting motor opening in an engine flywheel housing.

The pinion shaft has a 6/8 pitch gear on one end and an 8/10 pitch gear on the other end. Both ends have a square hole which fits the standard 1/2" (13 mm) drive ratchet used to turn the engine (Illustration 2).

The 5P7307 Engine Turning Tool Group fits all Caterpillar engines that use electric starting motors.
