Usage:
A relief valve has been added to the 5P2420 Lubrication and Testing Group used to test assembled track joints during addition of lubricant to Sealed and Lubricated Track. The relief valve gives protection to the 5P2707 Gauge from large pressure surges (sudden increase and decrease in pressure). Large pressure surges can decrease the service life of the gauge.

The relief valve can be installed on earlier lubrication and testing groups that did not have a relief valve. A 5P6578 Valve Assembly and a 5P6559 Block are needed for installation of the valve.
Installation:
1. Remove the junction block from the lubrication and testing group.
2. Remove the pump assembly and drum cover from the drum. Drill a hole in the drum cover as shown in Illustration 2. Install the pump assembly and drum cover to the drum.
3. Install the 5P6578 Valve Assembly in hole A (Illustration 3) of the 5P6559 Block.

4. Install the 5P6578 Valve Assembly on the lubrication and testing group with the 5P6578 Valve Assembly in the new hole in the drum cover. Assembly hoses and fittings which were removed earlier.
