Drains In New Fuel Injection Pump Housing And Governor Housing Prevent Possible Corrosion And Freezing Damage{1286}

Usage:

3208 Truck, Industrial and Marine Engines Equipped with Sleeve Metering Fuel Systems;
613B Tractors, 225 Excavators

Description of Change: In the past it was difficult to drain the fuel injection pump housing and governor housing on the above engines. Now a new fuel injection pump housing assembly and a new governor housing assembly have separate drains to make this operation easier. A plug on the governor housing and the lower bolt that holds the governor housing to the fuel injection pump housing permits these housings to be drained separately. Some water in the fuel can get by the fuel filter and water separator, if so equipped, and be held in the fuel injection pump housing and governor housing. Because the housings can be drained easier, possible corrosion and freezing damage can be prevented.
