New Torque Control Group Used In Governor And Fuel Injection Pump Group{1264}

Usage:

3406B Truck Engines With Air To Air Aftercooling (ATAAC) And 400 HP at 1800 RPM Rating

Description of Change: A new torque control group is used in the governor and fuel injection pump group on 3406B Truck Engines with ATAAC rated at 400 hp at 1800 rpm. The new torque control group allows more fuel delivery in a 200 rpm range below rated (full load) rpm. This results in improved engine response without change to the full load or full torque static fuel settings.

Adaptable To: The new 2W6660 Torque Control is a direct replacement for the former 2W8628 Torque Control Group in the governor and fuel injection pump group on 3406B Truck Engines with ATAAC rated at 400 hp at 1800 rpm. The OT6260 Performance Specification still applies to this engine. The components of the new and former torque control groups are the same except for the torque spring and shim. The new 2W6660 Torque Control adds 9L9347 Shim and has a 8N7520 Torque Spring instead of the 8N7518 Torque Spring in the former 2W8628 Torque Control Group.

Location of the components in the 2W6660 Torque Control Group.
