Check For Dirt Before Replacing Pyrometer Switch{1050,7466}

If the 3N8271 Pyrometer Selector Switch gives an inaccurate reading, check for dirt in the switch contacts before replacing the switch. The switch is not sealed. A small amount of dirt between the contacts can cause discontinuity because a very low voltage signal is generated by the thermocouple.
Disassemble the switch and clean any dirt and electrical grease off the contacts. Clean the inside of the switch housing as much as possible. Put a coating of clean automotive electrical grease on the contacts and reassemble the switch.
