Reinforcing the Right-Hand and Left-Hand Fenders On the D11R/T{0679, 7252, 7254} Caterpillar

Reinforcing the Right-Hand and Left-Hand Fenders On the D11R/T{0679, 7252, 7254}

Usage:

D11R 7PZ
Track-Type Tractor:
D11R (S/N: AAF1-UP; 9TR1-UP; 9XR1-UP; 7PZ1-UP)
D11T (S/N: GEB1-UP; TPB1-UP)

Introduction

This Special Instruction provides the procedure for reinforcing the battery box area on the left-hand and right-hand fenders on D11R/T Track-Type Tractors. If the desire is to modify D11R fenders for an access ladder retrofit, refer to Special Instruction, REHS4359.

Safety

------ WARNING! ------

Do not attempt to disassemble or assemble this machine until you read and understand the disassembly and assembly instructions. Improper disassembly and assembly procedures could result in injury or death.

----------------------

------ WARNING! ------

Personal injury can result from flame cutting or welding on painted areas.

The effect of gasses from burned paint is a hazard to the person doing the cutting or welding.

Do not flame cut or weld on painted areas.

----------------------

------ WARNING! ------

Personal injury or death can result from fumes, gases and ultraviolet rays from the weld arc.

Welding can cause fumes, burn skin and produce ultraviolet rays.

Keep your head out of the fumes. Use ventilation, exhaust at the arc, or both, to keep fumes and gases from your breathing area. Wear eye, ear and body protection before working.

Protect yourself and others; read and understand this warning. Fumes and gases can be dangerous to your health. Ultraviolet rays from the weld arc can injure eyes and burn skin. Electric shock can cause death.

Read and understand the manufacturer's instructions and your employer's safety practices. Do not touch live electrical parts.
