Usage:
All servicement in the U.S. should be aware of the Management Partsgram PEGU0034-01 pertaining to the handling of certain parts sold by Caterpillar Inc. that contain hazardous chemicals. The Partsgram was issued in order to comply with the U.S. regulation as published in the 29 CFR (Code of Federal Regulations) 1910.1200. This regulation is sometimes referred to as the "right to know" laws. Several other countries are also considering a similar regulation.
The Partsgram explains the regulation which became effective November 25, 1985, and provides for certain reports related to hazardous chemicals used in the workplace. For Caterpillar dealers and users, the regulation applies only to a few items sold through our Parts Departments. One part of the regulation provides for a Material Safety Data Sheet for all chemicals defined by the regulation as being hazardous. An initial list, by Caterpillar part number, is provided in the Partsgram and the Data Sheets for each such part number are shown on microfiche Form SEFV1602. The Data Sheets give information that is helpful to a health care professional in treating overexposure to a chemical.
You can make paper copies of the Data Sheets from the microfiche.
