Two new multi-scale, liquid-filled pressure gauges are available for use on hand and electric hydraulic pumps. These gauges have an ANSI B 40.1 Grade A accuracy and a capacity of 70 000 kPa (10,000 psi). The connections on these gauges have 1/4"-18 NPTF threads. They have an operating range from -10°F to 180°F (-23° to 82°C). These gauges are hermetically sealed and engineered for exceptional resistance to pulsation, corrosion, vibration and metal fatigue. All of the parts in these gauges are made of brass or materials compatible with brass to prevent any electrolysis. Both gauges are equipped with a blowout disc for operator protection. The disc is designed to vent sudden case pressure, drastically reducing the danger of injury from any possible Bourdon tube failure.
The 8T5343 Pressure Gauge has a bottom stem mount and is primarily used on electric pumps. The 8T5342 Pressure Gauge is a flange mount, back connection gauge used in the 6V9061 Hand Pump. The 5P3100 and 9S5800 Hand Pumps can be modified to hold the 8T5343 Pressure Gauge, see Special Instruction SMHS8309.
The dial faces on both gauges are the same. The outside scale is in pounds per square inch (psi). The inner scales are color coded and indicate tons of force for the same hydraulic cylinders as the former canceled 9S2239 and 9S2240 Pressure Gauges.
