Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before you begin the removal procedure, thoroughly clean the exterior of the components. This will help to prevent dirt from entering the internal mechanism.

  1. Place suitable blocking under track assembly (1).

  2. Raise the blade . Position Tooling (A) under the blade and lower the blade onto Tooling (A).

  3. Separate track assembly (1). Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Track".

  4. Attach Tooling (B) and a suitable strap to track assembly (1). Use Tooling (B ) and a suitable strap in order to position track assembly (1) away from the idler assembly.

  5. Remove plates (2). Remove guard (3).

  6. Remove brackets (4).

  7. Attach a suitable lifting device to front idler (5) in order to position front idler (5) forward. The weight of front idler (5) is approximately 159 kg (350 lb).

  8. Attach an additional suitable lifting device and Tooling (B) to front idler (5). Remove front idler (5).

    Note: Note the location and the number of shims for installation purposes.

  9. If necessary, remove bolts (6), shims (7), and wear strips (8).

    Note: To position the front idler, refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Front Idler Position - Check and Adjust".

  1. If necessary, install wear strips (8), shims (7), and bolts (6).

  2. Position the shims in order to obtain approximately 2.0 mm (0.08 inch) clearance for Dimension (X).

  3. Attach suitable lifting devices and Tooling (B) to front idler (5). The weight of front idler (5) is approximately 159 kg (350 lb).

  4. Install front idler (5).

  5. Remove Tooling (B) and continue installing front idler (5). Remove the suitable lifting device.

  6. Install brackets (4).

  7. Install guard (3). Install plates (2).

  8. Use Tooling (B ) and a suitable strap in order to position track assembly (1) onto the idler assembly.

  9. Connect track assembly (1). Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Track".

  10. Raise the blade . Remove Tooling (A). Lower the blade.
