Removal Procedure

At operating temperature, the engine coolant is hot and under pressure. Steam can cause personal injury. Check the coolant level only after the engine has been stopped and the fill cap is cool enough to touch with your bare hand. Remove the fill cap slowly to relieve pressure. Cooling system conditioner contains alkali. Avoid contact with the skin and eyes to prevent personal injury.

1. Open the engine hood.

2. Turn the battery disconnect switch to the off position.

3. Drain the coolant until the level is below radiator top tank (2).

4. Disconnect hoses (1).

5. Disconnect hose (3) from radiator top tank (2).

6. Disconnect harness assembly (4) and the cable straps. Disconnect hose (5). Remove bolts (6) and radiator top tank (2).

Installation Procedure

1. Install radiator top tank (2) in the reverse order of removal.

   1. Install bolts (6) to a torque of 30 ± 7 N·m (22 ± 5 lb ft).
