The thermocouple vacuum gauge is located on the bottom of the upper Flywheel assembly.
The gauge measures the vacuum in the flywheel assemblies. The gauge reports the measurement to the flywheel interface board. The flywheel interface board reports the measurement to the APC.
Removal Procedure
Refer to Systems Operation, Testing and Adjusting, RENR7654, "Internal Component Preremoval Steps (Flywheel Cabinet)" in order to shut down the system and gain access to internal components.
- Remove the "RJ-45" cable (9) .

Note: The entire assembly consists of the following components:plastic base (7), metal tube (6), retainer ring (4), adapter plug (3) and a sticker for the tie-wrap (8) .
- Remove the entire unit from the flywheel housing by using the adapter plug (3) .
Removal Procedure for the Plastic Base
- Cut the tie-wrap (5) .
- Remove the plastic base (7) by pulling the base (7) straight downward.
- Remove the sticker for the tie-wrap (8) from the plastic base (7) .
Installation Procedure
- Apply 6V-2055 Grease to the black O-ring (1) of the adapter plug (3) .
- Install the entire unit into the flywheel housing by using the adapter plug (3) .
- Connect the "RJ-45" cable (9) into the gauge.
Installation Procedure for the Plastic Base
- Attach the sticker for the tie-wrap (8) to the plastic base (7) .
- Attach the new plastic base (7) to the male connectors on the metal tube (6) .
- Apply a tie-wrap (5) to the plastic base (7) and the metal tube (6). Place the tie-wrap (5) through the sticker for the tie-wrap (8) and over the retainer plug (4) .
- Attach the "RJ-45" cable (9) .
