Fan (Inverter Cabinet)

Inverter Cabinet Fan Location

There are five fans that are mounted in the lower metal plenum in the Inverter Cabinet.

Removal (Four Side Fans)

  1. Perform steps in the Systems Operation, Testing and Adjusting, "Internal Component Preremoval Steps (Inverter Cabinet)" in order to de-energize the system and gain access to internal components.

  1. Disconnect the two wire harnesses that connect to the fan housing.

  1. Remove the four bolts that hold the fan assembly in the cabinet. Use a 76 mm (3/8 inch) socket.

  1. Remove the fan assembly from the cabinet.

Removal (Rear Fan)

The rear fan is removed from inside the lower fan plenum.

  1. Perform steps in the Systems Operation, Testing and Adjusting, "Internal Component Preremoval Steps (Inverter Cabinet)" in order to de-energize the system and gain access to internal components.

  1. Remove the vertical fan exhaust plenum.

  1. Access the rear fan from inside the lower fan plenum.

  1. Disconnect the two wire harnesses that connect to the fan housing.

  1. Remove the four bolts that hold the bracket and fan assembly to the inside of the lower fan plenum. Use a 76 mm (3/8 inch) socket.

  1. Remove the fan assembly from the cabinet, through the top of the lower fan plenum.

  1. Remove the four bolts that hold the fan to the installation bracket.

  1. Position the fan assembly into the cabinet. The cables coming out of the fan assembly should be positioned as in Illustration 3.

  1. Attach the fan assembly to the cabinet with four bolts. Use a 76 mm (3/8 inch) socket.

  1. Connect the two wire harnesses to the cabinet wiring according to the labeling. Refer to Illustration 2.

Installation (Rear Fan)

  1. Attach the installation bracket to the fan with four bolts.

  1. Position the fan assembly into lower fan plenum through the top opening of the plenum and into the rear fan opening. The cables coming out of the fan assembly should be positioned as in Illustration 3.

  1. Attach the fan assembly to the cabinet with four bolts through the installation bracket from inside the lower fan plenum. Use a 76 mm (3/8 inch) socket.

  1. Connect the two wire harnesses to the cabinet wiring according to the labeling. Refer to Illustration 2.
