Improved Seal on Filters {1308}
- Engine:
- C15 (S/N: MXS1-UP)
New seal material is being introduced for the 1R-1808 Engine Oil Filter As and the 1R-0716 Engine Oil Filter As. The new material will be effective beginning 1June 2006. Extensive testing in the lab and field tests have proven the following performance:
- Easier removal of the filter at service
- Sealing
- Resistance to vibration
The new seal will be marked by a thin blue stripe (1) on the side of the seal. The blue stripe is visible when the filter is held vertically. Refer to Illustration 1.
