Description of Change: An improved seal group is now available for the final drive of the 953C and 963C Track-Type Loaders. The improved seal group is a cast seal. The factory installed seal group on the standard drive is a formed seal.

Improved 6Y-0857 Duo-Cone Seal Gp (1) is a service replacement for 9G-5347 Duo-Cone Seal Gp. In certain applications, wire or other foreign debris could puncture the seals or wind around the seals. In these applications, a guard is needed in order to help protect the final drive. Use 229-8484 Cover As (2) for the 953C or both 225-4020 Cover As (2) and 212-1289 Cover As (3) for the 963C.
The improved seal and guards are adaptable to the following machines:
