New Governor Drive Group Has Longer Service Life{1289,1264}

Usage:

3306 Natural Gas Engines Equipped With Woodward PSG Governors

Description of Change: A new governor drive group is used on the above engines. The new governor drive group, when compared to the former governor drive group, has new drive gears, a new idler gear, a new adapter assembly and a new housing assembly. The gear profile of the new idler and drive gears is different. The new idler gear has 45 teeth. The former idler gear had 47 teeth. The new idler gear, with fewer teeth, will increase gear tooth engagement with the new drive gears. Also, the new idler gear bearing has been aligned with the drive gears (see the illustration) to improve the service life of the bearing. The former bearing was not in alignment with the drive gears and could be damaged by uneven loading of the bearing.

Adaptable As: The new 7W5383 Woodward PSG Governor Drive Group is a direct replacement for the former 1W8977 Woodward PSG Governor Drive Group which is canceled. The new 7W5383 Governor Drive Group is adaptable to first production on the above engines.
