Usage:
New temperature indicating crayons that record surface temperature are available. The new 8T3195 Temperature Recorder Group (Crayons) is made from temperature indicating materials which change color when certain temperatures are attained. The color change is a distinct change to a completely different color. The 8T3195 Temperature Recorder Group often eliminates the need for complicated and costly temperature measuring equipment.
Temperature crayons.
Color changes can be viewed at safe distances. The materials are safe, non-corrosive, unaffected by most environments, easy to apply and easy to remove. Twelve different crayons are available in a pocket sized kit covering the temperature range of 200°C (390°F) to 670°C (1240°F).
Applications For The 8T3195 Temperature Recorder Group
The 8T3195 Temperature Recorder Group can be used for fast surface temperature checks in welding (pre and post heating), for bearing temperatures and to monitor temperatures of exhaust components, mechanical or electrical equipment during operation.
How To Use The 8T3195 Temperature Recorder Group
To determine the temperature of a hot surface, select the crayon with the temperature range closest to the estimated heat level. Mark the surface and observe the results. If this change occurs within one or two seconds, the temperature marked on the crayon wrapper has been reached. An immediate color change without the one to two second delay indicates that the material is above the "change temperature" of the crayon used. A longer than two second delay before the color changes indicates that the material temperature is still somewhat below this point. Continue selecting crayons, with the next higher or lower range as indicated by the result of each test, until the correct temperature is determined.
