Usage:
3508, 3512, 3516 Marine Engines
Description of Change: The water lines groups and water cooled manifold groups have been improved on 3500 Series Marine Engines. The flange of the water cooled exhaust manifold has been changed from 3/8" tapped holes to clearance holes so that bolts and nuts can be used. This aids in the assembly of the manifold on to the regulator housing. Formerly, bolts had to be installed through the regulator housing and threaded into holes in the exhaust manifold.
Adaptable As: The improved water cooled exhaust manifold groups have been changed as shown in Chart A.
An earlier manifold group can be modified so that bolts and nuts can be used to fasten it to the water regulator housing. Use an 11.5 mm (7/16") drill to drill out the four tapped holes in the water cooled manifold assembly. Additional parts required are shown in Chart B.
