Description of Change: The connecting rod has a drilled oil passage that supplies pressurized oil to the piston pin and to the connecting rod bearing. In the new connecting rod, the drilled oil passage is chamfered at both ends. The chamfers help to ensure cleanliness of the oil passage and provide a smoother fit for the main bearing and for the piston pin bearing.
Adaptable To: The new 381-6555 Rod As replaces the 230-2516 Rod As, which is canceled.

The new 381-6555 Rod As is adaptable to 3500B and 3500C High Displacement Engines back to first production.
The new 381-6555 Rod As is effective with the serial numbers that are listed in Table 2.
The old connecting rod and the new connecting rod can be mixed in the same engine.
