Note: Replacement of the gear is recommended when the sleeve bearing is replaced.

Refer to the Disassembly and Assembly Manual for instructions on removing and on installing the sleeve bearing.
Note: Refer to the Parts Manual for the part numbers for the bearings.
After the sleeve bearing is installed in the gear, machine the inside diameter to the correct size.
Cluster Idler Gear
Note: The following dimensions are for a new gear.

- Surface finish of the sleeve bearing ... 0.8 micrometers
(A) Finished inside diameter of the sleeve bearing ... 75.06 ± 0.01 mm (2.9551 ± 0.0004 inch)
(B) Depth of the sleeve bearing ... 1.5 ± 0.5 mm (0.06 ± 0.02 inch)
(C) The pitch diameter must be concentric with the following value. ... 0.15 mm (0.006 inch)
(D) The surface of the gear must be square with the bore within the following value. ... 0.05 mm (0.002 inch)
Camshaft Idler Gear
Note: The following dimensions are for a new gear.

(C) The pitch diameter must be concentric with the following value. ... 0.120 mm (0.0047 inch)
(D) The surface of the gear must be square with the bore within the following value. ... 0.05 mm (0.002 inch)
Machining the Sleeve Bearings

Diameter of the shaft ... 74.99 ± 0.01 mm (2.9524 ± 0.0004 inch)

- Install gear (3) onto chuck (2) for machining. Ensure that the gear is square on the chuck.
- Use lathe (4) to turn the bearing.
