Description of Change: A new aftercooler gasket and a new torque tightening sequence is now used on the machine engine in the above listed Track-Type Tractors. The new aftercooler gasket will provide improved sealing between the aftercooler cover and the housing. The new torque tightening sequence will improve load retention of the bolts and result in increased durability and reliability of the inlet air system.
Adaptable To: The new aftercooler 227-0139 Gasket that is used with the 163-8407 Cover and the 163-8408 Housing is a direct replacement to first production. A bolt tightening sequence and a torque requirement of 47 ± 9 N·m (35 ± 7 lb ft) is now used with the 0S-1619 Bolts that secure the cover, the gasket, and the housing together.

The new tightening sequence that is shown above is included on the 163-5804 Water Aftercooler Gp print and this sequence must be followed.
Note: The recommended torque value of 47 ± 9 N·m (35 ± 7 lb ft) must be followed when you install the 0S-1619 Bolts. The bolts for the aftercooler should be checked at 250 hours or at the first oil change with the specified sequence again.
