Engine Crankcase Breather - Clean

Usage:

C15 MHP


NOTICE

Perform this maintenance with the engine stopped.


If the crankcase breather is not maintained on a regular basis, the crankcase breather will become plugged. A plugged crankcase breather will cause excessive crankcase pressure that may cause crankshaft seal leakage.

  1. Loosen hose clamp (1) and remove breather tube connection (3) from valve cover (2) .

  1. Remove the valve cover. Refer to the Disassembly and Assembly Manual.

  1. Wash breather (4) in clean nonflammable solvent. Allow the breather to dry before installation.

  1. Install the valve cover. Refer to the Disassembly and Assembly Manual.

  1. Install the breather tube connection on the valve cover. Install the hose clamp.
