Removal Procedure

Start By:
- Remove the engine enclosure. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Engine Enclosure - Remove and Install".
- Disconnect the battery. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Battery or Battery Cable - Disconnect".

Personal injury can result from failure to disconnect the battery. First, disconnect the negative battery cable. Then, disconnect the positive battery cable. A positive power lead can cause sparks if the battery is not disconnected. Sparks can possibly result in battery explosion or fire. |
- Disconnect hose (1) from air cleaner assembly (2). Remove air cleaner assembly (2) .

- Remove cover (4) from operator control panel (3). Disconnect nut (5) from operator control panel (3) .

- Disconnect harness assemblies (6), (7), (8), (9), and (10) .

- Disconnect harness assemblies (11) and (12) .

- Remove bolts (14) and guard assembly (15) from generator housing (13) .

- Remove bolts (16) from generator housing (13) .

- Attach Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to generator housing (13). The weight of generator housing (13) is approximately 68 kg (150 lb).

- Raise generator housing (13) in order to install suitable cribbing under flywheel housing (18). Remove bolts (17) and generator housing (13) from flywheel housing (18) .

- Attach a suitable lifting device to rotor assembly (19). The weight of rotor assembly (19) is approximately 34 kg (75 lb). Remove bolts (20) and rotor assembly (19) from flywheel (21) .
