Disassembly Procedure

Standard Idler Gear

Typical example

1. In order to disassemble the standard idler gear assembly, slide the hub (3) out of the idler gear (1).

2. Inspect the bushes (4) in the idler gear (1) for wear and/or damage.

3. If necessary, replace the idler gear.

Heavy-Duty Idler Gear

1. In order to disassemble the heavy-duty idler gear, remove the Allen head screw (1) and remove the plate (2). Press the hub (9) out of the bearing assembly (6).

2. Remove the circlip (3) and the thrust washer (4) from the idler gear (5). If the bearing assembly (6) is worn and/or damaged, slide the bearing assembly out of the idler gear (5).

3. Discard the bearing assembly (6). Remove the circlip (8) and the thrust washer (7).
