Window Wiper Motor (Rear) - Install

Installation Procedure


NOTICE

Do not operate the wiper motor before the wiper arm assembly is installed.

A new wiper motor is preset in the parked position. If the wiper motor is operated before installation of the wiper arm assembly, misalignment will occur. This can cause damage to the wiper motor, the wiper arm assembly, and/or the window.

Do not manually rotate the wiper arm assembly on the shaft.



NOTICE

Do not operate windshield wiper motor prior to installing the wiper arm assembly. Wiper motor is preset to the park position. If the wiper motor is rotated before the wiper arm assembly is installed, the wiper motor will be misaligned. Do not manually rotate wiper arm on wiper motor shaft before the nut is torqued or after the nut is torqued.

  1. Install wiper motor (21) in position. Secure wiper motor (21) to wiper motor assembly (17) with three bolts (22) .

  1. Install arm (20) on the shaft of window wiper motor (21). Tighten bolt (19). Bolt (19) will secure arm (20) to the shaft of window wiper motor (21) .

  1. Install wiper motor assembly (17) in position inside the cab of the machine. Secure wiper motor assembly (17) with two bolts (18) .

  1. Connect electrical connector (16) .

  1. Install cover (13) in position.

  1. Secure cover (13) with two Torx screws (15) on the side of cover (13) .

  1. Secure cover (13) with Torx screw (14) on the side of cover (13) .

  1. Secure cover (13) with four Torx screws (12) on the front of cover (13) .

  1. Install filter (11) in position. Secure filter (11) with two screws (10)

  1. Install nut (9) on shaft (7) .

  1. Install cover (8) on shaft (7) .

    NOTICE

    Be sure to push wiper arm head straight onto the wiper motor shaft. If wiper arm head is not installed straight the splines will not be formed properly when the nut is torqued.


  1. Install wiper arm (3) on shaft (7). Position wiper arm (3) at 0° to 2 ° from the vertical centerline.

  1. Install nut (5) and the washer on shaft (7). Hand tighten nut (5) on shaft (7) .

  1. Torque nut (5 ) to 24 ± 1 N·m (17 ± 0.7 lb ft).

  1. Wait at least one hour. Torque nut (5) again to 24 ± 1 N·m (17 ± 0.7 lb ft). Do not wait more than 4 hours.

  1. Lower cover (4) on wiper arm (3) .

  1. Install hose (6) on wiper arm (3) .

    Note: Do not use petroleum lubricants on the hose ends. Do not stretch the hose between connections.

  1. Connect the hose of the window washer to the fitting. Install the hose to Dimension (A). Dimension (A) is 1.0 ± 1.0 mm (0.04 ± 0.04 inch).

  1. Install grill (2). Secure grill (2) with six bolts (1) .

  1. Connect the battery terminals. Move the battery disconnect switch to the ON position.

  1. Start the machine.

  1. Start the window wiper. Check the wiper arm for proper operation.
