Transmission Oil Level - Check

The transmission oil dipstick is under the access cover on the right fender of the machine.

  1. Open the access cover. Check the dipstick when the engine is running at low idle and the oil is at operating temperature. Maintain the oil between the "LOW" mark and the "FULL" mark.

    Note: When you are operating the machine on severe slopes, the quantity of oil in the transmission can be increased up to 10 percent. When you are operating with the increased oil quantity, prolonged operation in some machines can cause high transmission oil temperatures. After the work on the severe slopes has been completed, drain the excessive oil quantity from the bevel gear case.

  1. Remove the filler cap for the power train. If necessary, add oil.

  1. Clean the filler cap and install the filler cap.

    Replace the filter element if the transmission oil filter indicator comes on during operation. See Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Transmission Oil Filter - Replace".

  1. Close the access cover.
