Do not allow dirt to enter the fuel system. Thoroughly clean the area around a fuel system component that will be disconnected. Fit a suitable cover over disconnected fuel system component. |

Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids. Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates. |
- Close the fuel supply valve.

- Open the fuel drain (2) in the bottom of the filter assembly, if equipped. Drain the fuel into a suitable container.
- Loosen the setscrew (1).
- Remove the canister (3).

Illustration 2 g00917937 - Assemble the following items: seals (8), seal (7), canister (9) and base (10). Place washer (5) and seal (6) on setscrew (4).
- Fasten the assembly to the fuel filter base with setscrew (4).
The fuel system will need to be primed after the new filter is installed. Refer to this Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Fuel System - Prime".
- Close the fuel supply valve (1).

- Loosen the locking ring (3).
- Remove the casing for the filter (2) and the element.

Illustration 4 g01122131 - Assemble the following items: seal (5), filter element (6) and casing (7).
- Install the assembled items to the filter head (4).
- Install the locking ring (8) to the filter head. Rotate the locking ring in order to lock the assembly.
