Crankshaft Pulley - Remove and Install
Removal Procedure

Keep all parts clean from contaminants. Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life. |
- Loosen the bolts for the alternator and slide the alternator toward the engine in order to remove the V-belt from the engine.
- Remove bolt (1) and washer (2) from the crankshaft.

- Remove crankshaft pulley (3) from the engine.

- Thoroughly clean the following components: keyway, key, bore of the crankshaft pulley, end of the crankshaft and washer.
- Put crankshaft pulley (3) in position on the engine.

- Inject a 3 mm (0.12 inch) bead of 8T-9022 Silicone Gasket into the crevice between the crankshaft and the crankshaft pulley. Please refer to illustration 3.
- Lubricate bolt (1) with clean engine oil.

- Install washer (2) and bolt (1) in the crankshaft. Tighten bolt (1) to a torque of 185 N·m (136 lb ft).
- Put the V-belt in position on the engine.
- Slide the alternator away from the engine in order to tension the alternator V-belt. Tighten the bolts for the alternator. For more information on the tension for the alternator V-belt, refer to the Testing and Adjusting Module, "Belt Tension Chart".
