Start Relay |
The start relay is an output of the relay control. The start relay turns the start solenoid on and off. The start solenoid controls the starting motor. The operator turns the key start switch to the START position and the transmission direction switch is in the NEUTRAL position. The relay control will send a signal that will activate the start relay.
The start relay has a connector with two contacts. One contact receives the signal from the relay control. The other contact is hooked to ground.
Note: Terminal 3 of the start relay is connected to a positive battery source. Terminal 4 is connected to the start solenoid.
Reference: For more information about the neutral start function, refer to the Service Manual module, Systems Operation, Testing and Adjusting, "Transmission Electronic Control Operation" for the machine that is being serviced.
