The Electronic Monitoring System (EMS) consists of fault alarm (1), fault light (2) and monitoring panel (3). There are individual indicators for each machine system on the panel.
The monitoring system alerts the operator of an immediate problem or impending problem. The panel is designed to alert the operator of faulty machine systems.
Functional Test
To ensure the proper operation of the EMS, check the system daily.

ON - The battery disconnect switch must be in the ON position in order to supply electrical power to the machine. |

ON - The start switch key must be turned to the ON position in order to supply electrical power to the operator's compartment. |
Panel Test Switch - With the engine OFF, push the lower end of the switch for checking the EMS. All indicators should come on and the fault light should blink until the switch is released. Release the switch. The switch will return to the OFF position. |
If any of the indicators or the fault light do not come on, check the electrical system and make all necessary repairs before starting the engine.
If all of the indicators and the fault light come on, start the engine. Repeat the panel test with the engine running. Depress the switch for checking the EMS and hold the switch. All indicators and the fault light should come on again. The fault alarm should also sound.
If any of the indicators or the fault light do not come on or if the fault alarm does not sound, stop the engine. If a particular indicator does not come on, check the electrical system and/or the particular machine system. Make all necessary repairs before starting the engine again.
Warning Categories
The monitoring system provides three warning categories. The first category requires only operator awareness. The second category requires the operator to respond to the warning. The third category requires immediate shutdown of the machine systems.
Warning Category 1
In this category, only the EMS indicator will come on. This category alerts the operator that the machine system needs attention.

Alternator (1) - This indicator indicates a malfunction in the alternator. If the indicator light comes on, stop the machine in a convenient location. Investigate the cause. The cause may be loose belts, broken belts, etc. |
Do not operate the machine until the cause has been corrected.
Warning Category 2
In this category, the EMS indicator and the fault light come on. The warning category requires you to change the machine operation. Changing the machine operation will reduce the excessive temperature in one of the systems or in more than one of the systems. Also, changing the machine operation will reduce the excessive engine speed.

Coolant Temperature (2) - This indicator indicates excessive coolant temperature. Change the operation of the machine in order to reduce coolant temperature. If the indicator light remains on, stop the machine in a convenient location. Investigate the cause. |
After investigating the cause and the indicator stays on, do not operate the machine. If the fault light continues to flash, do not operate the machine.
Transmission Oil Temperature (3) - This indicator indicates excessive oil temperature in the transmission. Change the operation of the machine in order to reduce the oil temperature. If the indicator light comes on, reduce the load on the machine. If the indicator remains on and the fault light continues to flash, stop the machine in a convenient location. Investigate the cause. |
Warning Category 3
In this category, the EMS indicator and the fault light come on. The fault alarm will also sound. This category requires immediate shutdown of the operation in order to prevent severe damage to the system and/or to the machine.

Engine Oil Pressure (4) - This indicator indicates low oil pressure. If this indicator comes on, stop the machine immediately. Stop the engine and investigate the cause. |
Do not operate the machine until the cause has been corrected.
Transmission Oil Filter - This indicator indicates that the transmission oil filter should be changed. Change the transmission oil filter. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, SEBU6915, "Hydrostatic Transmission Oil Filter - Replace". |
