(1) Rubber pads (2) Equalizer bar |
The roller frames are connected to the case and frame and to each other at the front of the machine by the equalizer bar (2). The equalizer bar pivots about the center pin. This allows the track roller frames to oscillate.
Rubber pads (1) are on top of the equalizer bar. These rubber pads are compressed between the equalizer bar and the case and frame. The rubber pads control oscillation of the roller frames. The rubber pads also improve stability on side slopes.

The center pin (3) has two powdered metal bearings (1). The bearings are impregnated with oil. The sealed pin joint (4) prevents contamination. The center pin and bearings do not require lubrication.

End Pin Joints (1) Spherical bearings (2) End pin (3) Limited slip seals (4) Relief valves (5) Lube fitting |
The track roller frames are connected with pins on each end of the equalizer bar. Specially designed spherical bearings (1) are used. The pins (2) and bearings are now lubricated with oil instead of grease. Oil has excellent load carrying capacity and ease of lubrication. New limited slip seals (3) contain the oil. The seals prevent the entry of contaminants. The seals fit very tightly on the pins. The seals are designed to slip on the pin only during extreme rapid movements of the track roller frames and equalizer bar.
Lubrication in the pin joints is critical to providing long service life. The oil level in the pin joints should be routinely checked. Refer to the Operation and Maintenance Manual, SEBU7103 for adjustment.
