Elevator Control Valve - Install

Installation Procedure


NOTICE

Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the machine. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.

Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Tools and Shop Products Guide", for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids in Caterpillar machines.

Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.


  1. Clean all parts and inspect all parts. If any parts are worn or damaged, use new Caterpillar parts for replacement.

  1. Install the elevator control valve to the machine. The elevator control valve weighs 35 kg (77 lb). Install two bolts (34) and (33) to elevator control valve (2) . Remove the nylon lifting strap and the hoist from the elevator control valve.

  1. Install tube (32) to elevator control valve (2) and tighten two retaining nuts (31) and (30) .

  1. Connect hose (29) to elevator control valve (2) and tighten retaining nut (28) .

  1. Connect hose (27) to elevator control valve (2) and tighten retaining nut (26) .

  1. Position hose (25) to elevator control valve (2) . Install two half flanges (24) and four bolts (23) to elevator control valve (2) .

  1. Position hose (22) to elevator control valve (2) . Install two half flanges (21) and four bolts (20) to elevator control valve (2) . Position hose (19) to elevator control valve (2) . Install two half flanges (18) and four bolts (17) to elevator control valve (2) .

  1. Install yoke rod end (16) to elevator control valve (2) . Install pin (15) to yoke rod end (16) . Install cotter pin (14) to pin (15) . Connect hose (13) to elevator control valve (2) and tighten retaining nut (12) .

  1. Install bracket (4) to the machine. Install two bolts (11) to bracket (4) .

  1. Install two bolts (10) to bracket (4) . Connect tube (9) and tighten retaining nut (8) .

  1. Install four bolts (6) to fender (7) .

  1. Connect electrical connection (5) and install electrical connection (5) to the clip. Install the clip and bolt (3) to bracket (4) . Install the clip and nut (1) to the elevator control valve (2) .

  1. Fill the hydraulic tank. Refer to Owner's Manual, SEB6447 for information on refilling the hydraulic tank.
