Assembly Procedure

1. Clean all parts and inspect all parts. Replace any parts that are worn or damaged. Put clean hydraulic oil on all moving parts.

2. Install fitting (18) on cover assembly (2) if the fitting was removed.

3. Use Tooling (A) to install lip seal (17) in the pump body. Make sure that the sealing lip is facing toward the inside of the pump body.

4. Install fitting (16) on the pump body if the fitting was removed.

5. Heat bearing (14) to 135°C (275°F) and install the bearing on shaft (12). Use Tooling (B) to install snap ring (15) on shaft (12).

6. Install shaft (12) and the bearings on pump body (6). Use Tooling (B) to install snap ring (13) on pump body (6).

7. Install O-ring seal (11) on pump body (6).

8. Install 12 vanes (10) on rotor assembly (8).

9. Install rotor assembly (8) and two pins (9) in cartridge assembly (7).

10. Position cartridge assembly (7) in the original location on pump body (6).

11. Install plate assembly (4), O-ring seal (3), and spring (5).

    Note: Align the pins with the holes in plate assembly (4) during assembly.

12. Install cover assembly (2) and four bolts (1). The torque for the bolts is 54 ± 7 N·m (40 ± 5 lb ft).

End By:

1. Install the pilot/brake pump. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Vane Pump (Pilot and Braking) - Install".
