1. In order to obtain dimension A, screw threaded rod (6) through lever assembly (7) by the thickness of nut (8) . Then screw threaded rod (6) through lever assembly (7) by an additional 3.0 ± 1.0 mm (.12 ± .04 inches) .

2. Thread nut (8) onto threaded rod (6) until you obtain dimension A. Dimension A equals 3.0 ± 1.0 mm (.12 ± .04 inch) .

3. Hold lever assembly (7) and nut (8) . Continue to install threaded rod (6) into casting (9) .

   Note: The end of threaded rod (6) should be flush with the opposite end of casting (9) . Dimension A must be maintained in order to lock threaded rod (6) against casting (9) .

4. Tighten nut (8) against casting (9) .

5. Compress spring (11) and retract pin (16) by moving lever assembly (7) . Install a spacer between pin (15) and guide (14) . The spacer should be equal to dimension (B) . Dimension (B) equals 7.00 mm (.275 inch) .

6. Release lever assembly (7) , and turn bolt (13) until spacer (10) contacts washers (12) .

7. Lock bolt (13) with nut (5) .

8. Remove the 7.00 mm (.275 inch) spacer that was installed in Step 5 .

Note: Apply 1U-8268 Dry Film Lubricant or a similar dry lubricant between guide (14) and pin (16) .
