Installation Procedure

1. Install bolts (11) in order to connect heater coil (10) to air conditioner coil (8).

2. Carefully install air conditioner coil (8) and heater coil (10) as a unit.

3. Install bolts (9) that fasten air conditioner coil (8) and heater coil (10) to the housing.

4. Carefully install probe (7) to a depth of 244 ± 10 mm (9.6 ± .4 inch) on the top of air conditioner coil (8).

5. Install hose assemblies (6) through the bottom of the housing. Connect the hose assemblies to the heater coil. Tighten the clamps to a torque of 4.5 ± 0.5 N·m (40.00 ± 4.00 lb in).

6. Connect electrical connector (5).

   Note: Clean the fittings of the tube assemblies and the seals of the tube assemblies prior to assembly. Apply clean refrigerant oil to the fittings and to the seals.

7. Install tube assemblies (3) through the bottom of the housing. Connect the tube assemblies to the air conditioner coil.

8. Tighten locknuts (4) to a torque of 33 ± 3 N·m (25 ± 3 lb ft).

9. Open the two valves at the water pump for the heater hoses.

10. Fill the cooling system with coolant. For the correct procedure, refer to the Operation and Maintenance Manual for your machine.

11. Evacuate the air conditioning system. Charge the air conditioning system. Refer to Service Manual, SENR5664, "Air Conditioning and Heating Systems with R-134a Refrigerant" and to Special Publication, NEDG5065, "Air Conditioning Tools" for the correct procedure and for the proper equipment.

12. Start the machine and check the machine for leaks. Check for proper operation of the air conditioning and heating system.

13. Install cover (2) and bolts (1).

1. Separate the steering frame lock. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Steering Frame Lock - Separate and Connect".
